Course Overview

About: Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT

Certified in the governance of enterprise IT (CGEIT) is a vendor-neutral certification that tests, validates and certifies IT governance skills, knowledge and practical experience of an individual. CGEIT certifications validate and individual’s skills across five key job domains, including:

  • Framework for the governance of enterprise IT
  • Strategic management
  • Benefits realization
  • Risk optimization
  • Resource optimization

Individuals must pass a three-hour exam and provide proof of at least five years of work experience in any of the job domains and/or related IT governance, management and more. Individuals can take the exam before or after the experience, but there is no substitution for the experience.

Prerequisites

ISACA requires you to have at least 5 years of IT governance experience in the 5 ‘CGEIT Domains’ to qualify for the qualification. You can take the CGEIT examination prior to meeting ISACA’s experience requirements, but the CGEIT qualification will not be awarded until all requirements are met.
